Our Story

Greenwashing is everywhere these days with every brand seemingly jumping onto the sustainability bandwagon. 

As a dressmaker I have always paid close attention to the fabrics I use and am frequently amazed by the amount of polyester/nylon used by established brands who also claim to be sustainable.  

Most vegan leather products are made of PVC, the most polluting of all plastics according to Greenpeace. My search for a more sustainable plant-based alternative led me to Desserto's cactus leather (see more in the Cactus Leather page) which has created a realistic, supple, plant-based leather using leaves from the Nopal cactus plant and PU.

At From The Core we aim to create beautiful stylish vegan products which are 100% vegan whilst utilising new innovative more sustainable materials 

Oh and 5% of our profits go to supporting the removal of plastics from our oceans.
